This turned out to be such a cute little quilt for an equally adorable little girl!

I was thrilled to find some pink fabric in my stash to use as binding that matched perfectly.

When I started quilting this one, I started sewing some straight lines to make a diagonal pattern. After a few rows, it wasn't looking so great. So, I took it all out.
The stippling looks so much better and really shows off the fabrics and string pattern. yea!

I think I'll admire this one for a few days before bringing it to the new baby. :) The Darla fabrics are so pretty!

It's great to have another finish! Do you have any quilt finishes to share?

Beautiful!!!
oh wow.
I have some Darla and Ava Rose waiting to become something for a little girl... this is just beautiful. :)
(and I wish I had a finish to share!) ;)
Love your string.....it looks great. Colors are wonderful.
I LOVE your quilts they look so professional. I'm a new quilter and have had a lot of trouble with basting my quilts well, so that there aren't any puckers when I machine quilt.
Do you have any suggestions?
it looks fabulous!
I'm so stinkin' jealous! Takes me months to get something finished, and you're like. Two weeks. Done! Gah. Of course, it could be I have a bajillion (Okay maybe not really, it just feels like it) projects at once, and I'm easily distracted.
Either way, that quilt is absolutely adorable!!
I think this is the prettiest string quilt I have ever seen!
this is so adorable. i love it!!!the fabrics are perfect for a little girl. i so wish i had a quilt to share this week...but i am waiting on motivation. it is really hard to settle on a pattern for fabric you love.
Oh Jess, this is so pretty! Way to go! I don't know how you crank these quilts out so quickly!
That's lovely, I love the colours - so pretty and girly. That's one lucky baby!
your quilts are so inspirational - I so wish I had more time so that I could do what you do! Instead, I'll just have to look at yours! x
It's so pretty!
I almost have a finish...finally! Another week or so and hopefully I'll have it done :)
Wow what a beautiful quilt! Love the colors.
Lucky baby! Its gorgeous!
Gorgeous little quilt!!!!
Jessica,
Looks beautiful! Do you hand sew your binding? Have you had any experience in machine binding - would love to hear your thoughts!

Ok, thank you everyone for all the kind comments, you are all so sweet! :)
To answer Paula's question:
Here's a few things that I do when I baste a quilt, that maybe will help you.
I use spray starch when ironing the backing and quilt top before I make the sandwich. I heard that tip somewhere and that the starch was supposed to help the fabric slide through your machine easier.
I pin my quilt backing to the carpet with straight pins... I've found it holds the fabric stronger than tape.
I use the curved quilting pins to hold it all together.
Do you have an even-feed or walking foot for your machine? It helps to pull the quilt top and backing at the same rate.
To answer Jody's question:
Yes, I hand sew my binding onto the back. I tried doing it with machine one time and I really didn't like the results. I didn't like the way that I couldn't see where the stitches were going on the back (like if they happened to land on the binding itself or the quilt backing). Maybe I'm just being picky, but I would want all of the stitches to be at an even distance away from the binding and look even all the way around. ...ok, so I am being a picky... I guess it just works best for me to sew it on by hand and that way it looks the same all around. :)
Hope that helps!

Just gorgeous - I love the colours!
What a sweet little quilt. That's a cute line of fabrics that I've not seen before. Now I'm in search for some for myself! Thanks!! Jenn
This is so pretty! Great color theme!
That's a really pretty quilt - super colours & balance. I love stippling - just the change in the texture of the fabric is amazing.
I finished Rose Quilt over the weekend http://adaliza.wordpress.com
