I just finished hand stitching the rest of the binding on this morning! I was really motivated to finish this one up this week, so I could join in the Bloggers' Quilt Festival.
This pattern is one that I have wanted to make for quite a while. I bought the pattern about a year or so ago and started cutting out templates and quickly lost interest. When the Single Girl Support Group started up earlier this year, I knew I had to join in a make this quilt.

I think I'll keep this one folded at the end of my bed for a while. That way I can admire it throughout the day!
Straight line quilting seemed like the best option for me to finish this quilt up. I had really wanted to have it professionally quilted, but am also happy to be able to say I made this one from start to finish all by myself. The quilting went well (it just looks really wrinkly here because I haven't washed it up yet).
The backing fabric is another Denyse Schmidt print from her Picnic and Fairgrounds collection. The colors and design fit in perfectly with the Flea Market Fancy and I really like to have a patterned fabric for backing.

Angela and I started making our Single Girl quilts at the same time, and I do have to say that she has really inspired me to keep going on this quilt and finish it up. She chose to straight line quilt her quilt, too and when it looked so great on her quilt, I decided to do that on mine, too. I really like the suggested quilting that's with the pattern, but I knew I would never finish it if I had to hand quilt it. And, I didn't think that maneuvering the curves on my machine would be do able with a quilt this size.
When I came up on the deck to take the quilt down, it looked so pretty with the sun shining through to the back.
Thanks for visiting!
I hope you have a great weekend!
~Jessica

Full on swoon! OMG, I just adore this! The backing you picked is perfect, and it looks just amazing. Wow!
this just makes me want to drop what I'm doing right now and start working on my single girl. I am a big fan of the straight line quilting on Angela's (and yours) as well, so that clinched it for me. Straight line quilting it is, and I'll be able to say I completed it from start to finish all by myself!
Love this quilt! You have inspired me to keep working on mine!
Its freaking awesome! Well done sticking with it! Love the straight line quilting too... just perfect!
THis quilt is lovely. I think it should be on the end of your bed to keep looking at.
I adore this quilt!!! I bet that backing was icing on the cake.
You mean if you were to wash it, it won't look wrinkly? I'm confused, I thought that's why machine quilters washed their quilts.
Dolores - I was thinking about and looking at the creases that I had made to the quilt during the process of quilting it. That's all... I really like a crinkly quilt when it's pulled out of the dryer! I'm sorry that didn't come across correctly in my post.

I haven't been all that interested in doing this quilt but now that I see yours finished, I'm thinking about it. I REALLY want to straight line quilt now no matter what quilt it is - your lines are perfect. Beautiful!
Wow, what an amazing quilt! And a great backing choice. Can't wait till next weekend when I'll (hopefully) have time to get mine basted.

You did a great job on this! I haven't tried one yet that has curves.
The straight line quilting worked out great on this quilt. That's a lot of stitches in there. It turned out beautifully and the background fabric is perfect for this!
I can easily say I love everything about this quilt. I featured it on my blog today.
