Vanilla & Blooms

Vanilla & Blooms - pattern
I've started a new quilting project the past couple of days. This pattern is called Vanilla & Blooms by Fig Tree & Co. It has been hanging around my sewing area for quite a while so I just decided to give it a try. The Picnic and Fairgrounds fabrics by DS Quilts seemed like a good fit. The scale on many of the prints is small and I thought that would work well with the smaller size of these patchwork blocks.
Vanillla & Blooms - little stacks
I chose 25 of my favorite fabrics from the collection and cut enough pieces to make two blocks of each.
Vanilla & Blooms - first 3 blocks
Here's my first three blocks... only 47 to go!

ETA: Thanks so much for all of you kind comments!! I've had a chance to sew some more blocks this afternoon. It's so nice to have a chance to sew and relax after a busy start to the week.
Vanilla & Blooms - 9 blocks
The blocks will eventually have a cream colored square separating them, but I really like the mix of colors going on here. This may be our new quilt to take to the beach this summer! Hope you're day is going well!
:) Jessica

This looks so crisp and clean, and I love your tidy stacks of fabric, ready to go!

Maybe this is what I will do to reduce the 30's fabric in my stash!

Those blocks are so fresh and bright - you've picked the perfect pattern for the fabrics! I'm so glad to get a close-up of those blocks. I remember seeing pictures of the pattern from last year's market and wondering how she put assembled them.

Hi, called in by accident from here in England - love all your patchwork blocks. I've ended up being more of a quilter with embellishments but I could be seriously tempted back to patchwork seeing your lovely creations. I'm an avid spinner too - would love to here from anyone out there!! Cheers!

Maybe I missed this in a previous post, but where did you manage to lay your hands on the Australian DS Quilts fabrics that everyone wants? (Or are you in AUS/NZ?). I enjoyed seeing your Farmer's Wife post the other day. It got me researching and reading some of the book on Amazon...so interesting. Good luck with the quilt!

I love seeing your blocks!
Do you have a good suggestion for paper piecing tutorials. I can see the benefit of paper piecing but lack experience. I want the quilt to turn out well and learn more as i go along. Thanks Cindy
