Today I'm working on some hand quilting. It's cool and cloudy out and I've got a little who's not feeling the best, so it seems like a perfect thing to do. :) I kept thinking that some diamond quilting in the background would be nice for this piece. I like what's happening so far.

It's no. 8 perle cotton that I'm using and the shapes have been ironed on with Steam-a-Seam. It's a double sided fusible adhesive. I then, stitched around the shapes with a blanket stitch on my machine.

Hello! This is absolutely fabulous! I've just read you're using no.8 perle cotton but what type of embroidery needle do you use? and also how do you hide the knot? It's quite a thick thread...... please, please let me know! I'm dying to some hand quilting like this!

This is really beautiful. The hand stiching adds so much. But I could be biased, I really love handquilted things. Even if I haven't had much of a chance to do any lately. Could you please share what thread you are using? and where I might find it? I really like the size of it, and that it doesn't get hidden.
