Farming again...

New Farmer's Wife blocks for this week
blocks  #31 Evening Star, #40 Friendship Block, #41 Friendship Star, #96 Tulip
I haven't worked on these in a long time and had forgotten about how colorful and fun they were to make!
I'm pulling out the Farmer's Wife blocks again
It was nice to lay them out on the porch and see what's already been made. I think there's 41 blocks pictured and I would need 50 to make a lap size quilt. Only 9 more to go! Now to decide on a sashing fabric... I'm thinking something with a printed texture and a darker color would be good.

This is going to make a beautiful quilt! All of the blocks are so different in color, but look so good together!

They just look incredible! I've really been wanting to start one, but it seems so daunting! I guess you just have to think of each block separately, though. It seems like it would be crazy to use all different fabrics, but your blocks work so well together!

kohlhause2005: The Farmer's Wife group is a public group on flickr. You just need to join the group. There isn't any "acceptance" required that I know of.
Please try joining again, it's a nice group of people and I'm sure everyone would be supportive of helping someone new out!

kohlhause2005: You're welcome! I'm glad you're getting it worked out. I also joined the yahoo group and that was because I wanted to use the paper piecing patterns that are posted there. I'm sorry you've had trouble trying to join that group. The flickr group has a great amount of inspiration for your blocks and quilt layouts. I've been looking at the finished quilts lately trying to figure out what kind of sashing and borders I'd like to do!
Best of luck to you and I'm sure you will learn so much from making the little FW blocks. They're really fun and addicting to make!
