Hello and welcome to my stop on the blog hop for Jane Sassaman's new book entitled "Patchwork Sassaman Style: Recipes for Dazzling Quilts"!
I thought I'd do something a little different on my stop by showing you my interpretation of one of the patterns in the book. Jane's book is colorful, fun and contains many new ideas... and that makes me really excited about it.
One of the patterns called Cross-in-a-Cross caught my eye and I pulled out some Brr! fabrics by Laurie Wisbrun and started fussy cutting the house shapes. I had a lot of fun deciding what fabrics to use and where to place them in the block.
Jane's book gives you lots of different "recipes" with how to construct a certain pattern. Your sizes of the pieces will depend upon the fabric designs you choose and how you use them. The directions and information within the book are well written and easily understood.

I think my quilt top turned out so cute! It's a little more than 15.5" square and I knew that would work perfectly for a pillow top.
I like this book because of all the ideas and ways to incorporate fussy cutting into your quilting. That's a technique and aspect to quilting that I haven't used much and I'm pretty excited with the results!
And, now for the fun part!

One of my favorite aspects of blog hops is that sometimes one can see different artists' ideas at "play" with someone else's idea. I love both the original and your own rendition.
